Conceived and organised by the Global Strings Federation, the World Strings Day is an event that Belcanto Violins Music Studio readily supports to promote a healthy string culture in Singapore. Bringing the sound of string instruments across Singapore, the event saw about 60 String players from all walks, music schools and levels.
Belcanto Violins Music Studio sent in 26 of our Students and Teachers to participate in this event. It was a very interesting and good learning experience for all players to have learnt parts to play as an ensemble. This is a nice departure from our usual concert repertoire where we focus mainly on solo works. Due to the rehearsals and practises, this event also made our Music Studio closer as a family. This is especially a good change from the days where covid made us have only online encounters and enstranged musicians.
The event was conducted by Amanda Tan and the music was composed by local composer Phoon Yu of old favourites by Singapore Composers: Count on Me Singapore - Home - Singapore Town.
We cannot wait and look forward to the next World Strings Day!
