This Violin is made by master maker of over 35 years of experience in Violin Making. A copy of the rare 1735 “Mary Portman” Guarneri ‘del Gesù, this violin is made of aged maple which features a beautiful red and orange varnish on an even medium grained maple. The mellow but dynamic tonal quality and wide variety of tone colors make it a very fine solo instrument.

This is an exquisite copy of the 1671 Oistrakh Stradivarius, this extraordinary instrument will be able to meet all Professional Players’ needs.  It is both accurate to the original piece in both sound and appearance.

The 1671 Stradivarius is named after the Soviet Violinist and Conductor David Oistrakh.  Known for his wide and captivating style of playing, David Oistrakh was born in Odessa (now part of Ukrainian) and was a childhood prodigy who was eventually brought to Moscow where he was a teaching professor.  He performed regularly pre, during and post-World War II and was often the banner head for the excellence of the Soviet violin standard.  Having played as many as seven Stradivari violins in his lifetime, this was the only one that carried his name. Originally owned by the Queen of Belgium, it was a gift as a testament to his talent and personal style and voice.  After his death, his instrument was stolen and missing from 1996 till 2001 when it was rediscovered in a police raid.

This instrument has a two piece back with grain patterns slanting downwards with contrasting varnish, unusual for Stradivarius designs and has a varnish that is of a deep brown colour. Made from imported naturally aged and dried European maple woods on the body, ribs, and back, this exceptional instrument is eye catching and unforgettable. It has a deep but spirited resonance. It is intended as a soloist’s instrument and is capable of meeting all professional standards.

An excellent instrument that carries the best traditions of a Supremo instrument from Belcanto Violins. This violin makes a very fine solo instrument.
